Link Building Strategy

The first project I decided to focus on was my CharlesCountyRealEstateNetwork.com website. Using Market Samurai, I determined which websites were ranking in positions 1 thru 10 on Google for my keywords. I used the PR Analysis tool to determine where these sites were getting their links from and started submitting to some of the same websites.

As another part of my link building strategy, I spent the day setting up several web 2.0 accounts so that I can start syndicating content for CharlesCountyRealEstateNetwork.com. I am testing two different plugins for syndicating the content: WP Syndicator and AutoTrafficBuddy. (I probably should have only tested one at a time, but determined that they are using different websites to syndicate the content. WP Syndicator is syndicating specifically to the sites that I just set up accounts for and AutoTrafficBuddy is submitting to multisites that I set up when configuring the plugin.)

Today I wanted to view my Google Analytics for the website just to see what type of activity I was getting and realized that I had incorrectly added the wrong Google Analytics code! At least I caught it fairly early in the process and hopefully I will see the activity reports over the next few days.

As of today, Market Samurai is showing the following results for my key words “Charles County Real Estate“:

PR – 1

IC (Index Count) – 1,520

Referring Domains (Domain) – 611

Referring Domains (Pages) – 603

Page Backlinks – 9,068

Domain Backlinks – 9,165

Page edu/gov Backlinks – 0

Currently, the website is on Page 7 of Google for this term. I’ll watch to see if I will climb the Google ladder over time. I will assume that it is because my competitors have had their domain names for a longer period of time and have more links coming in from higher PR sites.

Interestingly though, I am ranking higher for the following key words:

Charles County MD Real Estate – Page 5

Charles County homes for sale – Page 3

Charles County Realtor – Page 1, #5

I will continue to monitor the progress.
